What’s been happening? Good news
On the 4th of March officers responded to a male causing a disorder in the street. At the incident our officers were spat at by the male and the other had his leg kicked. The male offender was arrested and on the 5thMarch he was charged for both assaults. Both officers are well and continued their duty as usual.
On the 5th March, PCSO Brady attended Kingshurst Library for a Cuppa with a Copper, listening to local concerns and offering crime prevention advice to residents.
After returning from our rest days on 9th March, PCSO Khan attended a Chat & Brew event held at Auckland Hall in Smiths Wood. Members of the public were provided with crime prevention advice.
We received a report of a male begging at Morrison’s Supermarket in Castle Bromwich and trying to enter the store despite being banned. Checks revealed him to be overstaying in the country since April 2025. He was arrested for the immigration offence and detained to be dealt with. On the 11th of March a prolific shoplifter entered Tesco’s store in Castle Bromwich ready to steal when an officer hiding out the back walked past him. His details were obtained and it turns out he was already wanted for a theft committed in the Marston Green area last month. He was arrested for an attempted shop theft at Tesco’s and the theft from last month. After a very long day, we have charged him and completed a remand file so he could be in court the following day.
The team locked a male up on the 12th March, who arrested for harassment against an ex-partner who doesn’t live on us, but she has been distressed by his continuous calling.
On the 13th of March, PCSO Took, Brady and Sgt Stopher-Murray attended Castle Bromwich Infants School as part of their Flourish Futures program, it’s aim is to raise children's aspirations and develop skills for life. Throughout the year they look at different professions and what skills we need to enter this profession. There focus today was 'Police' and the entire day was dedicated to learning about what the police do, how they help us and what skills we would need to become police officers. We took a Police cage van and the whole school was broken into little sessions where they got to listen to PCSO Took & Brady talk about their jobs, our uniforms and the numerous vehicles and animals the police have to assist us. Then they got to go outside and see the van and experience what the cage is like and see the lights and the sirens. A good day was had by all, and the children told us all about the crime scenes that they had set up in their classrooms, and the school had been investigating their own pretend crime of “who stole the school iPad's”. 😍👮♀️🚔🚨
Also, on the 13th of March, PCSO Michelle Collins and Saad Khan were at Kingshurst Youth Club at St Barnabas Church to talk to the children and parents about the “Hollie Guard” mobile phone app. Hollie Guard was developed by the Hollie Gazzard Trust to help people stay safe. The app was created in honour of Hollie. It is the definitive safety app fully endorsed by many police forces across the country.
